Rabbi Jonathan Rosenberg is a native of Columbus, Ohio. For High School and post-High School studies, Rabbi Rosenberg attended Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, MD. He received his ordination from the late renowned "Gaon" Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, zt"l, in June, 1986. He then went on to study at Yeshivas Mir in Jerusalem. For his post graduate studies, Rabbi Rosenberg attended the Talmudic University of Florida in Miami, and received a second ordination from Rabbi Yochanon Zweig.

For fifteen years Rabbi Jonathan Rosenberg served as the spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavas Sholom, in Columbus, Ohio. During his tenure the synagogue emerged as a leading force in the community through its many classes and innovative programs. He was instrumental in bringing a full time Kollel to the city and having the Columbus Jewish Community join with thousands of participants world-wide in the Daf Yomi program. During his latter years in Columbus, Rabbi Rosenberg served as the Av Beis Din of the Rabbinical Court. Rabbi Rosenberg is a gifted speaker and is especially esteemed for his annual lectures on Shabbos Shuva (the Sabbath between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) and on Shabbos HaGadol (the Sabbath preceding Passover). He has also lectured at National Jewish conventions.

In 2007, Rabbi Rosenberg became the Senior Rabbi at Shaarey Zedek Congregation in Los Angeles. The synagogue is the largest orthodox congregation in the San Fernando Valley. Aside from his work within the valley community, Rabbi Rosenberg holds positions on the Rabbinical Council of California’s Executive Board and the Aleinu Halachic Advisory Board.

Rabbi Rosenberg's wife, Aviva, is a native of Miami, Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education, specializing in specific learning disabilities, from Florida International University, and a Judaic Studies degree from Teacher's Seminary in Jerusalem. During her time in Columbus she taught various grades at the Columbus Torah Academy, the New Albany Jewish Center Pre-School and at the Kesher Program of the Columbus Jewish Federation Special Needs Sunday School. Aviva has now been with Emek Hebrew Academy since 2010 and works in the special education resource center. Rabbi Jonathan & Aviva Rosenberg are the proud parents of seven children, Aharon, Aliza, Daniel, Akiva, Yaakov, Liba and Michoel.
