Dedication: Harry Muhlstein
Harry Muhlstein was born April 17, 1920 in Frankfurt, Germany.
He was able to escape Germany in 1938 where he came to America
to join his two sisters, Hilda and Kay. Harry spent three years
in the US Army. He then came to Los Angeles where he met Esther
Wengrowsky. They married in 1953 and they lived at the business
in Burbank.
These were simple times with simple pleasures. They started a
family and enjoyed Sunday drives, public pools and matinees. A
lucky break came when Esther influenced him to move to the newly
emerging Orthodox community in North Hollywood. Harry was one
of the first members of Shaarey Zedek Congregation. He was a long
time board member of Shaarey Zedek where he enjoyed praying through
his last Yom Kippur.
Their children Carl, Herman, Jeanette, and Steven, attended Hebrew
Schools, were active in Bnei Akiva and became a part of the community.
Harry and Esther shared a life together for 42 years. Harry was
a dedicated husband and father with a strong sense of integrity.
A devoted family man and hard working businessman. Being real
Yecke he was always on time and resisted change.
He was very proud of his family, his daughters, son-in-laws and
his ten grandchildren.
